About Barb
Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I have been teaching school since 1994. I began teaching at Crispus Attucks Middle School in Indianapolis . In 2002, I received a teaching position at Aurora . I teach Environmental Science, Physical Science, and Unclass. I had been trying to get Chuck to hire me ever since the school opened. I enjoy teaching at Aurora . Before teaching, I worked for the Department of Natural Resources with the Lake and River Enhancement Program and I was a county planner for Monroe County .
I am also passionate about my dogs and about being near water. As you can see from my picture, I have learned to combine both loves - Sea Doing with my Labrador , Lake . I have three dogs and a three cats. One of my favorite dogs is Marley, a chocolate Standard Poodle. I also have one English Bulldog. I co-own a dog grooming shop called Dog Do. I don't groom dogs but I sometimes do the bathing and brushing.
Education is very important to me. I LOVE learning as well as teaching. I have two masters degrees. One is in Environmental Science and the other is in Public Affairs. I am certified to teach English and science. I am also certified in administration. I have a barber's license, but I haven't really cut hair since I got it. I love learning about all sorts of different things. Lakes and water quality are my favorite subjects to teach and to learn about.
